GUJRANWALA: PML-N leader Mudassar Qayyum Nahra, who was arrested in a land grab case, was released from central jail after the confirmation of his bail.
The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) had registered a case against the former MNA, his brothers MNA Azhar Qayyum Nahra and former district council chairman Mazhar Qayyum Nahra, their father Sultan Nahra, Sanaullah, Zakaullah, patwaris Aarif and Shafique on charges of grabbing 267 kanals of state land.
An ACE team had arrested Mudassar on Dec 18 and sent him to central jail.
On Wednesday, hundreds of PML-N workers had gathered outside the jail to welcome him after being released on bail. A heavy contingent of police was deployed outside the premises.
GUJRANWALA: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) registered on Wednesday another case against seven people, including PML-N MNA Azhar Qayyum Nahra, former MNA Muddassar Qayyum Nahra, former chairman district council Mazhar Qayyum Nahra and two revenue officials for allegedly grabbing eight kanal state land in Matoo Bhaike.
ACE circle officer Rana Nawaz said the Nahra brothers, their front men Attaullah, Sanaullah with the connivance of two patwaris Muhammad Arif and Muhammad Maqsood allegedly grabbed eight kanal state land in Matoo Bhaike village 10 years ago. The land was retrieved some days back.
The ACE official a case had been registered against PML-N leaders, their accomplices and both patwaris. He said teams had been formed to arrest the suspects. Former MNA Muddassar Qayyum Nahra has already been arrested in 267 kanal state land grab cases.

GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) - Anti-Corruption Department has raided Nowshera Virkan and arrested former PML-N MNA Mudassar Qayyum Nahra for illegaly occupying government land.
Anti-corruption officials say a case had been registered against Mudassar Qayyum Nahra for allegedly occupying government land in a nearby suburban village. His brother Mazhar Qayyum Nahra had threatened Assistant Commissioner Nowshera Virkan with dire consequences a few days ago. The Nahra brothers have allegedly been occupying the government land for a long time.
DC Gujranwala had sent a reference against Mudassar Qayyum Nahra, his brother Azhar Qayyum and father Sultan Ahmed in which it was said that the accused have occupied more than 267 kanals of government land and immediate action should be taken against them.
