Oman s share index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,578.25 points, down 0.55 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended up 0.29 per cent at 537.46 points.
Galfar Engineering, up 9.30 per cent, was the top gainer while National Bank of Oman, down 5.26 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of National Bank of Oman were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Al Anwar Ceramic was most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 701 trades were executed during the day s trading session, generating a turnover of OMR2.1 million, with more than 14.5 million shares changing hands.
