Muskingum County Joint Unified Command Center holds Briefing as Ohio COVID-19 Health Orders are Lifted Today
MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- The Muskingum County Joint Unified Command Center held a Covid-19 update meeting this afternoon addressing Ohio’s mask mandate ending and the importance of vaccinations.
Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department medical director Jack Butterfield started the meeting off by talking about how the Covid-19 cases have dropped. He stated that individuals’ risk of developing an infection with Covid-19 after being fully vaccinated is 0.01 percent.

COVID-19: New cases reported, treasurer s office temporarily closed
ZANESVILLE - A week that ended with 96 new cases of COVID-19 to Muskingum County also brought two deaths locally as Ohio Gov.Mike DeWine announced plans for the state to start easing up on restrictions.
Friday, the Muskingum County Health Department reported a daily total of 19 new cases of the virus locally and five current hospitalizations.
The total count of cases to date now stands at 8,501 with 111 deaths.
So far, 8,539 residents are fully vaccinated and another 15,247 are half way to inoculation.
A case of COVID-19 within the Muskingum County Treasurer s Office has closed the office as employees quarantine. The office is expected to re-open to the public on March 10.
