MARIETTA, OH With any luck, the rash of bomb threats here in Washington County are over. An arrest was made in Georgia and an 18-year-old man by the name Nicholas John Francis Hall is behind bars waiting for extradition. Here is a news release from the Washington County Sheriff s Office.

Marietta School s Bomb Threat Update
Marietta Police Department has responded to 2 separate Bomb Threats called into City schools. The first was made to Marietta Middle School at about 7:50 this morning. Marietta Police and Fire Chief Durham searched the building with the assistance of the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office and Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies and also assisted with the evacuation of the students.
The second call was at 11:15AM to Saint Mary’s School. The building was evacuated and Officers are still on scene awaiting an explosive searching K9 from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
These are believed to be connected to the other threats occurring around the area over the last week and MPD investigators are working with Investigators from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a most wanted suspect.
Authorities said they are looking for 44-year-old Brian L. Spears
(pictured) whose last known address was on Old McArthur Road in Logan, Ohio.
Spears is wanted on a felony indictment for several charges including breaking and entering, theft of a motor vehicle and felony theft.
He also has an active warrant for his arrest through the Ohio Adult Parole Authority.
Anyone with information on Spears’ whereabouts is urged to call the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office at (740) 452-3637.

Muskingum County most wanted suspect

Two Suspects Charged Following Zanesville Homicide
Zanesville Police Chief Tony Coury released the names of the two suspects and victim.
23-year-old Jayla Wyatt was found dead in her apartment on 6th Street when police arrived at approximately 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday. Police received a phone call from a resident of the apartment stating he came home and found her lying on the ground, appearing to look deceased. She was shot with a firearm.
20-year-old Tristaney Baker is believed to be the shooting suspect. 23-year-old Devin McKnelly was in the area when the shooting occurred. Coury said McKnelly is believed to be the one who drove himself and Baker to the apartment and back to Columbus.
