A look at the Career Center s three superintendent candidates
Those being considered are John Turnbull, Matthew Colvin and Leigh Ann McCray
COSHOCTON - The Coshocton County Career Center is considering three candidates for the position of superintendent. They are John Turnbull, Leigh Ann McCray and Matthew Colvin.
The board will be conducting interviews during a special meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday. There is no timeline for a new hire to be announced.
Current superintendent Rick Raach is retiring at the end of the school year. However, he said he would still be available to the district if needed after retirement and he looks forward to working with his replacement on the transition. Raach became superintendent in 2014, replacing Deborah Kapp-Salupo. He was previously superintendent of Ridgewood Local Schools from 2008 to 2012.
Are college students returning? It varies, administrators say
Zanesville Times Recorder
ZANESVILLE - Local two-year colleges are trying to recruit new students after lower spring enrollment followed an abrupt change for on-campus learning. This year might’ve been a little tougher for returning students, said Jason Howard, Ohio University Zanesville director of enrollment. They knew what the experience was like and they enjoyed it, and all of a sudden when it all moves virtual, there’s a big adjustment.
But it wasn t all bad, Howard said. Remote learning turned out to be attractive to some students, a surprising observation amid mixed reviews for the screens-only classroom approach.
