For Marie Davidson, 16, track and field is not just a sport, it is a part of her life.
“School’s important but track means a lot to me and I manage to get everything done,” said Davidson a grade 11 student at Kelly Road. “As for having a life, that can wait till the weekend or Friday night when I don’t have track.”
This weekend is no exception for Davidson, who will spend a lot of time at Massey Place during the Spruce Capital Invitational Meet. She will be competing in three events as well as coaching some of the younger athletes, depending on her time.

The Prince George Grizzly West Bantam Axemen will open their season on Sunday. The Axemen will host the Vernon Wolverines at Massey Place Stadium. Game time is 10 a.m.
Also the PGMFA will be hosting Vanderhoof and Quesnel with games being played in the peewee and junior bantam divisions.

Tryouts for the North Central zone team evaluation camp will get underway tomorrow [Friday]. Player from the zone from 100 Mile House, Williams Lake, Quesnel, McBride, Valemount, Mackenzie and Prince George will be taking part in the three day camp. Registration will be $60 for the three day camp which is being held at the Prince George Coliseum.
