NORRISTOWN — Characterizing it as unethical, Montgomery County officials say some residents are sharing COVID-19 vaccine appointment links on social media at a time when the county is dealing with
Montgomery County s health department will run out of COVID vaccines early next week if it does not get another shipment of first doses from the state soon, commissioners chairwoman Valerie Arkoosh said Wednesday.
The county received just 1,000 doses of the vaccine this week, about 3,500 fewer shots than it received last week, she said. This will allow our clinic to operate through next Monday, she said. That s only because we have vaccine from Monday and Tuesday clinics (which were canceled due to the snow.) If we don t receive more in time for Tuesday, we will not be able to offer vaccinations on that day, or until we receive additional first doses.
NORRISTOWN â Acknowledging that scheduling a COVID-19 vaccine appointment is challenging for those who donât have internet access, Montgomery County health officials plan to launch a phone call center to assist those who donât have a computer in registering for a shot.
âEarly next week, we will open a call center for Montgomery County residents to answer questions about vaccinations. Shortly after that, we will add the ability to pre-register for vaccination by phone for those that do not have internet access or an email,â county Commissionersâ Chairwoman Dr. Valerie Arkoosh revealed at a news briefing this week.
âWeâre very pleased to be able to offer this to anyone who doesnât have either internet access or a working email address,â Arkoosh said.
