Police arrest 17, 18-year-old after woman killed, four others injured in shooting

Octavious Grace, 17, and Denzel Donald-White, 18, were taken into custody Thursday in connection with the death of 34-year-old Queneisa McReynolds.  Officers were then called to the 2300 block of Day Street about 10 p.m. Sunday in reference to multiple people shot, Montgomery police Capt. Saba Coleman said Monday.  McReynolds was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound. She was rushed from the scene to a hospital, where she died, Coleman said.  The gunfire also left one juvenile boy with a life-threatening injury, a juvenile girl, man and woman each with a non-life threatening injury. All were taken to the hospital for treatment.  Grace and White were each charged with reckless murder and two counts of second-degree assault. They were both booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility, Coleman said. No mugshots were immediately available for the pair.

Montgomery Fire/Rescue charged Shawanda Stoudemire with arson first degree. According to Fire Lieutenant J.C. Selman , firefighters were called to 4710 Park Towne Way Tuesday after a report of a possible apartment fire. When they arrived, firefighters did not find a fire. A witness at the scene told fire officials that smoke was coming from apartment 245.

(WSFA) - Montgomery police have arrested a suspect in a Monday homicide investigation. Police responded to the 4300 block of Woodley Square around 2:30 a.m. They found a shooting victim who was pronounced dead at the scene. Police identified the victim as 21-year-old Prentice Murphy. Emmit Hardie, 22, of Montgomery, was arrested and charged with murder. Hardie is in the Montgomery County Detention Facility on $150,000 bond. (WSFA) - A vehicle pursuit in Montgomery on Sunday ended with a crash and an arrest. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says troopers tried stop a car for a tag violation on Southern Boulevard around 11:40 a.m. Sunday. Troopers say the driver, 31-year-old Gunvanta Thomas of Mapleton Georgia, did not stop, resulting in a pursuit. Troopers say Thomas struck another vehicle at the intersection of Southern Boulevard and Mobile Highway, then tried to run away on foot shortly after.

Queneisa McReynolds, 34, and 21-year-old Prentice Murphy did not survive their injuries. Their deaths marked the city s 23rd and 24th homicide investigations of 2021, seven more than the same point last year.  The violent weekend began Friday when officers responded to the hospital about 2:30 p.m. on a report of a gunshot victim. An adult man had suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound in the 1400 block of east Ann Street, Montgomery police Capt. Saba Coleman said.  Nine hours later, officers were again called to a hospital in reference to a gunshot victim. Police found another man with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Investigators determined the shooting occurred in the area of Carter Hill Road and Decatur Street, Coleman said.
