A Delaware County man is facing human trafficking-related charges, accused of forcing females to engage in sex for his financial gain at a Montgomery County hotel. Cornell Jamar Scott-Milbourne, 25, of the 1200 block of East 9th Street, in the Crum Lynne section of Ridley Township, was arraigned before District Court Judge Deborah A. Lukens on charges of human trafficking-involuntary servitude, aggravated indecent assault, sexual assault, indecent assault, promoting prostitution and living off prostitutes in connection with alleged incidents that occurred between May 1 and May 12.
Montgomery County COVID-19 Statistics for May 25
The Maryland Department of Health reported 16 new COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County Tuesday morning. The county’s cumulative case count is 70,728.
There were no new coronavirus-related fatalities in the county Tuesday, so the death toll remains at 1,497.
Monday, 0.92% of the COVID-19 tests done were positive. Compared to Sunday’s rate of 1.12%, this is a decrease of 0.1 The county’s positivity rate is the lowest in the state and is the lowest since the pandemic began in March 2020.
According to Montgomery County health officials, 50.6% of the county’s residents are fully vaccinated for COVID-19; 61.4% have received their first dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna two-dose vaccine. County residents vaccinated outside Maryland are not included in these figures.
NORRISTOWNÂ â A $2.3 million contract authorized Thursday will cover meal deliveries for those in need.
An agreement, not exceeding $2,313,600, between the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services and a number of providers was approved by the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners during a meeting last week.
A request for proposals was initially issued on half of the departmentâs Office of Senior Services for home delivered meals. More than 40 firms viewed the online advertisement, and 10 companies submitted a bid.

With Montgomery County getting ready to relax most COVID-19 restrictions, the evidence continues to mount that the virus is in retreat in the area. The latest: For the first time since March 2020, the county has gone 10 straight days with 50 or fewer cases reported.
Thirty-two new cases were added to the county’s case count on Saturday, bringing the total to 70,677 since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
The county announced on Monday it was entering phase two of its three-stage reopening plan, which occurred when 60% of the county’s population received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine.

Montgomery County on Friday reported fewer than 50 new cases of COVID-19 for the ninth consecutive day.
Thirty new cases were reported on Friday, increasing the county’s total to 70,645 since the start of the pandemic.
The last time the county had more than 50 new cases in a day was May 12, when there were 55.
One new confirmed COVID-19 death was recorded on Friday. There have been 1,493 in Montgomery County during the pandemic.
There have been an additional 46 “probable” deaths, meaning the coronavirus is listed as the cause but it was not confirmed with a laboratory test.
