Juvenile Charged as Adult with Home Invasion, First-Degree Rape
Rockville resident Cristian Vasquez, age 15, was arrested and charged with first-degree rape, first-degree assault and home invasion, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police. Vasquez is being charged as an adult for the crimes.
On April 29, Vasquez entered the victim’s home through an unlocked door and sexually assaulted her when she returned to her home on First Street in Rockville around 11 p.m. The victim put away groceries that she had just purchased, then walked upstairs and entered the bathroom, unaware that Vasquez was in the home. Vasquez grabbed her from behind and put his arm around her neck, wearing a mask that covered his entire face.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department, working in coordination with Postal Inspectors with the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS), have arrested and charged
David Louis Walton, age 31, of an unconfirmed address, with the February 2 armed robbery of a United States Postal Service (USPS) letter carrier in Aspen Hill.

Investigators continue to look into the possibility that Walton was involved in other similar robberies of mail carriers in the area.
On February 2, at approximately 10:50 a.m., 4th District officers and USPIS postal inspectors responded to the area of Elm Tree Lane and Elm Tree Court for the report of an armed robbery that just occurred.

A Hyattsville man was arrested for a 2003 home invasion robbery in Silver Spring in which suspects threatened and bound a family with duct tape, including two children, the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) said Tuesday.
Stacy Howard Moore, age 48, was arrested on warrant on April 22 in Hyattsville and is being held without bond, MCPD said in a statement. Investigators determined that around 6 p.m. on Jan. 22, 2003, a 31-year-old male approached the front door of his apartment on the 9100 block of Piney Branch Road when he was confronted by three suspects, according to police. MCPD said the suspects identified themselves as police and two had handguns. They threatened the male and forced their way into the apartment, police said, and the male’s 28-year-old wife, 7-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter were inside. Silver Spring Woman Killed as She Crossed Georgia Avenue
Claire E. Weissmeyeer Grossman, 63, of Silver Spring was pronounced dead at the scene after she was struck by a car as she was crossing northbound Georgia Avenue April 28.
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department, Collision Reconstruction Unit, are investigating the collision that took place at 11:02 p.m. by Rippling Brook Drive in Aspen Hill. Preliminary investigation determined that the 2015 Toyota Camry was going north on Georgia Avenue and struck Weissmeyer.
German Alexis Del Cid Mejia, 19, of Rockville was driving the car. He was not injured.
