Body recovered from Cumberland River near Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Crews have recovered a body from the Cumberland River downstream from Clarksville. At about 3:25 p.m. today, barge crews reported seeing a body in the river near the Smith Branch Boat Ramp, according to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Sandra Brandon. Units were dispatched to both sides of the river while the barge crew maintained a visual on the body and assisted in the recovery, Brandon said. The body will be sent to the medical examiner for positive identification. Smith Branch Boat Ramp is about four miles downstream and southwest of Clarksville. No further information has been released.

Christian County man killed in Montgomery County motorcycle accident

A Pembroke man was killed in an accident on Guthrie Highway in Montgomery County Tuesday morning. The Tennessee Highway Patrol investigated and determined 29-year old Kaleb Waldrop of Pembroke was northbound on a motorcycle when he collided at an angle with a pickup driven by 32-year old Alejandro Contrera of Nashville at the entrance to the landfill. Waldrop died from his injuries and Contrera was not hurt. Update, 11:25 a.m.: Traffic remains backed up through the area, with one lane closed. Update, 9:40 a.m.: One person was killed in the wreck, which involved a motorcycle and a pickup truck, according to John Grinder with the Tennessee Highway Patrol. The wreck, reported at 8:30 a.m. at Clear Springs Road, is still under investigation. Man sought for carjacking in Tennessee arrested

The man sought by police in Montgomery County, Tennessee for an alleged carjacking has been arrested. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday that 34-year old Dustin Williams was in custody and is charged with aggravated assault and carjacking. The initial incident happened Saturday morning on North Hinton Road and Williams allegedly fled from deputies and Clarksville police when located in the Terminal Road area. UPDATE: Sheriff s Office locates runaway 16-year-old

Previously: CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a runaway juvenile. Kaylin Dollar, 16, was last seen on Sunday, April 25, around 10:20 p.m. Dollar is 5-foot-5, weighs 130 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen by her parents wearing blue jean overalls, a white t-shirt and black slip-on shoes. She also had a black sweatshirt with a Harris Holt Martial Arts logo on the front with her. She was wearing contacts at the time, although she does also wear glasses. Dollar could be traveling with a 17 to 20-year-old white male with red curly medium-length hair. She is believed to be in Clarksville, Tennessee area, possibly traveling in a red or maroon colored car.
