Ting Yam FONDA An Amsterdam woman was arrested by Montgomery County authorities April 16 on 17 counts, including 16 felonies, for allegedly defrauding the county Department of Social Services out of more than $65,000 worth of public benefits over a five-year period. A Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office release issued Wednesday reported the arrest of Ting Yam, 30, no address listed, of Amsterdam. She was charged with: second-degree welfare fraud and second-degree grand larceny, both felonies; 14 counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, all felonies; and one misdemeanor count of second-degree scheme to defraud. The release said it is alleged Yam committed fraudulent welfare acts by filing false child care benefit applications. She allegedly fraudulently obtained $65,139 in public assistance benefits from September 2015 through March 2020, deputies said.

Pisgah Elementary put on lockout twice for 2 different incidents

Clarksville Now CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Pisgah Elementary School on Hazelwood Road experienced two brief lockouts Friday morning, as the school took precautions from two unrelated incidents near the school. This is the second day in a row that a Clarksville-Montgomery County elementary school has experienced a lockout. Thursday morning, Glenellen Elementary had a lockout that lasted into the afternoon due to a nearby standoff with a barricaded subject on Applemill Court. That situation was resolved around 6:40 p.m. Parents were alerted to the first lockout at Pisgah at 9:32 a.m., and it was lifted less than 10 minutes later. According to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sandra Brandon, law enforcement received reports of a suspicious person walking on Trenton Road just under 2 miles from the school.

Authorities Believe Missing Texas Teen is Being Trafficked   SPRING, TEXAS – Texas Authorities believe a teenager who was lured out of her home in Spring, TX is being trafficked. The FBI, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children are searching for Kristen Galvan. Galvan is 17 years old and was taken from her home in Spring, Texas on January 2nd, 2020. She went missing when she was 15. Galvan is 5’6”, 135 lbs., has hazel eyes and blonde hair. Her birthday is April 23rd. In school Kristen Galven was part of the ROTC and drill team. Robyn Bennett, Kristen’s mother said “It’s scary to think Kristen was lured out of our home new friendships full of empty promises and and sold into the dark world of child sex trafficking.”
