As the top federal prosecutor in the state of Colorado, Jason R. Dunn, the state’s outgoing U.S. Attorney, knows that every community is different in how they’re impacted by crime.
To address criminal activity in Pueblo, Dunn’s office has worked closely with local law enforcement since he was sworn in back in 2018 to curb some of the area’s worst trends in crime, particularly violent street gangs.
“I don’t think it’s a secret to anyone that Pueblo does have a gang problem,” Dunn said.
“And we really made a concerted effort to target that along with our federal partners in the ATF and FBI Safe Streets Task Force. Through that we were able to indict and charge a number of gang members from the Ace gang, the Dukes, the Surenos and others.”
