As the biting cold persists, East Singhbhum admin sets up bonfires across urban, rural areas | Ranchi News

Jamshedpur: As a cold wave grips the entire state, East Singhbhum administration has decided to set up bonfires across 30 public places in urban as well as rural areas. Railway stations, bus terminus, parking stands for autorickshaws and pavements in areas like Kadma, Sakchi, Mango, Dimna and Bagbera, to name a few, have been identified for this purpose. Deputy commissioner Suraj Kumar has asked the officials of all the three urban municipal bodies Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee, Mango Notified Area Committee and Jugsalai Municipality to conduct inspections and increase the number of bonfires, if required. Rural areas like Beltand and Katin will see bonfires being set up by the administration while the BDOs of Ghatshila sub-division have been asked to make bonfire arrangements in their respective block areas.

Special RT-PCR test drive in East Singhbhum | Ranchi News

Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum administration undertook a special RT-PCR testing drive across all the 10 blocks of the district on Wednesday. The authorities have set a target of conducting 4,200 tests during the drive. The drive was launched a day after the state health department made it mandatory for those with symptoms to undergo RT-PCR test. The urban circle comprising the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC), Mango Notified Area Committee (MNAC) and the Jugsalai Municipality have been set a target of 1,500 tests. The Baharagora block and a part of the Jugsalai block were given a target of 400 tests each. While the target number for each of Potka, Dhalbhumgarh, Ghatshila, Musabani and Patamda blocks was 300. For Dumaria and Chakulia blocks, the number was 200 each.
