SOMERVILLE, MA Somerville reported 488 coronavirus cases over the last two weeks, bringing it to over 2,700 confirmed cases, according to town-by-town data released by the state. But the city stayed in the moderate-risk category, averaging 46.1 daily cases per 100,000 residents, with a test rate of 1.68 percent.
That s up from 36.73 average daily cases and a test rate of 1.33 percent last week. There have been 2,702 cases in Somerville since March.
More than half of Massachusetts cities and towns were designated high risk by the Massachusetts Department of Health Thursday. Positive test rates rose in 275 communities.

WAKEFIELD, MA Wakefield reported 214 coronavirus cases over the last two weeks, bringing it to over 900 confirmed cases, according to town-by-town data released by the state. The town remained in the high-risk category, averaging 56.4 daily cases per 100,000 residents, with a test rate of 6.12 percent.
That s up from 48.47 average daily cases and a test rate of 5.72 percent last week. There have been 928 cases in Wakefield since March.

MALDEN, MA Malden reported 736 coronavirus cases over the last two weeks, bringing it to over 3,300 confirmed cases, according to town-by-town data released by the state. The city remained in the high-risk category, averaging 77.7 daily cases per 100,000 residents, with a test rate of 8.24 percent.
That s up from 58.6 average daily cases and a test rate of 7.18 percent last week. There have been 3,361 cases in Malden since March.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA Swampscott has crossed the threshold into being considered a high risk town for community coronavirus spread, according to this week s state report.
Virus metrics were higher across the board in the town with 73.4 cases per 100,000 residents a key metric the state uses for a high risk community and a positive test rate of 5.24 percent.
The town reported 175 new positive tests over the past 14 days, according to the state report.

Gov. Charlie Baker said officials are frustrated that the state received fewer doses of the COVID vaccine than anticipated, and that his administration is “working to get clarity” on how the change will impact the immunization timeline in Massachusetts.
“At this time, it’s not clear to us why the shipment amounts have been adjusted,” Baker said during a press conference at the Massachusetts State House on Friday. “We’re certainly frustrated that we won’t be receiving the amount we expected in the first wave, and are working to get clarity on what this means, why it happens and how that bump will be dealt with along the way.”
