Tri-Town proposes vaccine clinic for teachers

Photo Courtesy: Town of Marion The Tri-Town, alongside the Old Rochester Regional School District, have proposed a clinic at the which would provide the covid vaccine to over 1,000 teachers.  The proposal, announced in a Feb. 25 press release, would provide the first dose of the vaccine to 1,192 educators over the course of two days at the Benjamin D. Cushing Community Center in Marion.  The plan, spearheaded by Marion and backed by State Rep. Bill Straus, was put together in anticipation of further progress through Phase 2 of the state’s vaccination plan.

State health officials also added 33 confirmed COVID-19-related deaths to the state s total, which is now 15,657. According to Mass. DPH s weekly public health report, there have been 250 cases over the last 14 daysin Taunton, with 5,117 total since the pandemic began. The city s daily incidence rate is 31.0 per 100,000, meaning Taunton remains at Red, or at high risk of COVID-19. The city s positivity rate is 4.84%. According to DPH, as of Thursday, no Taunton residents have died of COVID-19 this week.
