State health officials also added 45 confirmed COVID-19-related deaths to the state s total, which is now 13,889. Reggie Lewis Center in Boston opens as mass COVID vaccination site after nor’easter delays initial opening

The state’s newest mass coronavirus vaccination site opened in Boston on Tuesday after a nor’easter swept through Massachusetts and postponed the location’s initial opening by a day.
The Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Roxbury was set to open as the state’s fourth mass vaccination site Monday. However, a major winter storm that dumped as much as 20 inches of snow on parts of the state hampered those plans.
Appointments at the Reggie Lewis Center that were set for Monday were expected to be automatically rescheduled to Feb. 8, the Boston Public Health Commission announced in a tweet.

Five cases have now been confirmed in Massachusetts of the coronavirus variant that first emerged in Britain, public health officials said, as experts warned of a possible surge in cases and hospitalizations fueled by variants in coming weeks.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health said three of the five cases were âassociated with travelâ and two were not.
