Disqualified by court one day, caught driving again the next

The 46-year-old was originally disqualified from driving for six months in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on April 8. The very next day she drove, and police caught her. On April 22 in the same court, Costello pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified by a court order after police nabbed her driving on Yeppoon’s John Street on April 9. Costello told Magistrate Jason Schubert that she had operated a cleaning business but due to her offending that was now finished. She received no sympathy from the magistrate.

Premium Content Subscriber only Benjamin Anthony Khan - 0.119 The roofer was found by police in his vehicle, parked in a Zilzie median strip with the engine running, at midnight on March 27. He was unresponsive and officers tried to wake him. He appeared to be intoxicated so they tried to give him a breath test. Police prosecutor Sergeant Shaun Janes told the court Khan was uncooperative with police and tried to enter the vehicle again, so had to be restrained. He was taken back to the Rockhampton Police Station where he blew 0.119. “He made full admissions of being the driver of the vehicle at the time,” Sergeant Janes said.

Man who allegedly assaulted brother has matters transferred

Premium Content Subscriber only A Caboolture South man, who allegedly assaulted his brother in March causing his death, has had his court matters transferred from Rockhampton to Maroochydore. Christopher John Adcock, 38 had his matters mentioned in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Monday, where he was represented by lawyer Nick Crawford. Mr Adcock was charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm and wilful damage. Mr Crawford sought to have Mr Adcock s matters transferred to Maroochydore Magistrates Court as the alleged incident occurred in Landsborough. The court heard Mr Adcock s matters were being mentioned in Rockhampton as that is where he was arrested on March 12.
