A domestic incident at a Jackson laundromat ended with two people sent to the hospital, including a Jackson Police officer and a confirmed gang member back in jail Thursday night, according to a statement from JPD.

JACKSON, Tenn. Two deputies with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office were injured Thursday after investigators say an individual they were attempting to transport stabbed them with a pair of scissors.
According to a news release, deputies were attempting to serve an emergency committal order on an individual at the Traveler’s Inn Thursday night when the individual became aggressive.
The release says the deputies attempted to de-escalate the individual’s behavior with crisis intervention techniques. The release says deputies also attempted to gain control of the individual involved for safety reasons, when the individual began stabbing one of the deputies in the face with a pair of scissors.
Jackson police charge woman in death of her 17-month-old child

JACKSON, Tenn. The Jackson Police Department has charged a woman following the death of her 17-month-old child.
According to JPD, 36-year-old Frances Cornett was charged with first degree murder for “intentional actions” that resulted in the child’s death, which occurred on December 1.
A news release states Cornett was transported to the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex after being released from a local hospital on Thursday.
She is currently in custody pending formal arraignment.
