EDWARDSVILLE A woman claims Illinois-based lender AAA Community Finance charged excessive interest rates and does business without a license.
Terrie Luster, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint May 13 in the Madison County Circuit Court against JRE Financial LLC, doing business as AAA Community Finance, alleging violation of the Consumer Installment Loan Act and Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act, unjust enrichment and engaging in lending business without a license.
According to the complaint, Luster was issued a loan by AAA in August 2020 for $475 with an annual percentage rate of 786.72% which is greater than the maximum of 99% allowed by Illinois law. She alleges that she made regular payments on the loan and eventually paid $1,400 to AAA before she stopped making payments. Luster claims AAA is not licensed with the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional

Schreiber Farm LLC filed a complaint May 7 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Artistic Gymnastics Institute LLC, Amanda Lee Verhaeg and Gregory M. Verhaeg, alleging breach of promissory note and forcible entry and detainer for past due rent.
According to Schreiber Farm s complaint, the defendants signed a lease agreement on Sept. 1, 2015, and an amended commercial lease agreement on Aug. 30, 2018, to rent a property on Industrial Drive in Edwardsville. EDWARDSVILLE A dental patient alleges she lost consciousness twice from pain after her dentist failed to properly anesthetize her during a tooth extraction.
Michelle Carmichael filed a complaint May 10 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Richard Boatman, Jr., DMD and Richard Boatman, Jr., DMD, PC doing business as Troy Family Dental, alleging negligence.
Carmichael claims in her suit that while undergoing dental treatment provided by Boatman on April 11, 2018, she suffered injuries due to Boatman s negligence. Specifically, Carmichael alleges Boatman failed to properly anesthetize her, which caused her to lose consciousness twice due to pain. She also alleges he had to stop her tooth extraction procedure before it was complete.
