Callis EDWARDSVILLE A mother claims her premature infant son developed a serious condition requiring part of his intestines to be removed after he was given Similac and Enfamil cow s milk-based formula. Takia Smith, on her own behalf and on the behalf of her minor child Amir Lattimore, filed a complaint May 10 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Mead Johnson & Company LLC, Mead Johnson Nutrition Company and Abbott Laboratories alleging strict liability for design defect, failure to warn, negligence and negligent misrepresentation. According to Smith s complaint, her son Amir was born prematurely at St. Mary s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla., on May 13, 2017, and was fed Similac and/or Enfamil cow s milk-based products during his hospital stay. Wendler Tiger Services denies liability and argues that Madison County homeowners failed to mitigate their damages before filing a suit alleging their home flooded after the defendant failed to repair a clogged pipe. Nicole and Christopher Hess filed the complaint through attorney Brian Wendler of Wendler & Zinzilieta PC in Edwardsville on Jan. 11 against Tiger Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning & Electrical Services, doing business as Tiger Services; Tiger Plumbing Services LLC; Tiger Heating and Air Conditioning Services, Inc.; Tiger Electrical Services LLC; and Jeff Gamblin. Suit alleges Madison County Highway employee caused Alton crash

Finney EDWARDSVILLE A woman claims she suffered injuries after a Madison County Highway employee failed to yield the right way at an intersection and collided with her vehicle.  Janice Crosnoe filed a complaint May 3 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jace Scheibal and Madison County Highway, alleging negligence.  According to her complaint, Crosnoe was driving northbound towards Humbert Road and Union School Road in Alton on May 27, 2020. She alleges that Scheibal, who was operating a Madison Count Highway vehicle, collided with her car and caused her to suffer external and internal injuries.  Crosnoe claims that Scheibal failed to stop or yield the right of way at the intersection and was driving at a speed that was greater than reasonable and proper. She also claims Scheibal was negligent for failing to stop or swerve his vehicle at the appearance of danger to avoid the crash.
