EDWARDSVILLE An Alton man faces several felony charges after allegedly punching someone in the face and injuring a 3-month-old baby.
Thomas L. Riggins, 43, of the 8800 block of Blue Ridge Drive, Alton, was charged with domestic battery (second subsequent offense, a Class 4 felony; and aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony.
The case was presented by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.
According to court documents, on Feb. 14 Riggins punched a family or household member in the face. It was noted he had a prior conviction for domestic battery out of Madison County in 2019. He also pulled the arm of a 3-month-old child, injuring the baby. Bail was set at $120,000.

EDWARDSVILLE An Alton man has been charged with armed robbery and home invasion after a November robbery in the 800 block of Ridge Street.
Antonio M. Evans, 26, was charged Dec. 2 with armed robbery and home invasion, both Class X felonies. The charges were sealed until Wednesday, Feb. 17, because Evans was not in custody.
The case was presented by the Alton Police Department.
According to court documents, on Nov. 17 Evans, allegedly armed with a silver handgun, entered a home in the 800 block of Ridge Street in Alton while at least one person was there and stole $3,000 in cash.
Two face meth delivery charges

EDWARDSVILLE Two people were charged Monday with multiple drug-related felonies.
Darron J. Murphy Sr., 51, of Madison, and Lee R. Kalbfleisch, 32, of Maryville, were charged Feb. 8 with unlawful possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, both Class X felonies, and two counts each of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, all Class 4 felonies.
The cases were presented by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.
According to court documents, on Feb. 5 the two allegedly were found to have in their possession between 15-100 grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver; and less than 15 grams each of of cocaine and Alprazolam.

East Alton man facing arson charge

EDWARDSVILLE An East Alton man has been charged with a Class X felony after allegedly setting fire to his apartment building.
Nicholas F. Gonzalez, 30, was charged Feb. 4 with aggravated arson, a Class X felony. The case was presented by the East Alton Police Department.
According to court documents, on Jan. 29 Gonzalez allegedly set a fire in an apartment complex at 200 Illinois 3, knowing there were others present.
Bail was set at $150,000.
