Search March 31, 2021   SOCORRO, N.M. – New Mexico Tech presented the winners of the drawings for new PlayStation 5 consoles with their prizes on Tuesday, March 30. The winners are Ethan Feuer and Madison Payne. NMT President Dr. Stephen Wells presented the winners with new PlayStations. Their names were drawn randomly from the top 100 students who participated in the fall 2020 COVID online daily screening. All of the top 100 received a $50 gift card. (WDAM) - March is National Nutrition Month and is meant to bring awareness about the health benefits of eating a proper diet of nutritious meals. On Friday, The Mississippi State University Extension Office in Waynesboro held a drive-thru event handing out educational material, healthy recipes and cooking utensils to the public. The Extension Office also conducts free nutritional education classes for youth and adults. Madison Payne, a nutritionist with the MSU Extension Service, says healthy living isn’t just about eating the right foods, but it’s a good place to start.

Skyline uses defense to topple Central

WOODSTOCK — Skyline’s defense shined bright on Tuesday night. The Hawks took advantage of 32 Central turnovers and used a strong defensive effort in the first half to pull out a 53-33 Class 3 Northwestern District girls basketball victory on Central’s senior night. The Hawks held the Falcons to 8 points in the first half on just three made baskets. “In the first half they scored 8 points — that’s pretty good defense,” Skyline coach Jim Kenney said. “That’s pretty darn good defense. I was really proud of that defensive effort.” The first quarter was sluggish for both teams as they combined for 10 turnovers. Skyline led 11-6 after the first eight minutes.
