A distinct change has occurred in our modern society as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Finding ways to stay at home rather than going out has become the trend, and this extends to our work lives, and for students, their school lives as well.
Earlier this month, the Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) the largest school board in the region saw their trustees undertake a serious discussion of what to do about remote learning after the pandemic.

The Ministry of Education has opened up the door for Capital Priority Submissions and the Grand Erie District School Board is looking to cast a wide net in Simcoe.
This money is meant for accommodation pressures, replacing schools in poor condition, supporting past consolidation decisions. providing facilities for French-language rights holders in under-served areas, and creating new licensed childcare spaces in schools.
The board is putting together 4 business models, but two of them surround the situation at Elgin Avenue Public School and West Lynn Public School.
During a review of school capacity a few years back, the board was considering two options.

BROCKVILLE, Ontario – Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) Director of Education Stephen Sliwa has announced that he will retire on June 30, 2021 after 35 years in the teaching profession.
“I am grateful for the privilege of serving students, the Board of Trustees, and the local community during my time as the Director of Education,” said Sliwa. “I have enjoyed the opportunity to provide leadership to staff, who have significantly elevated the operation of our schools and have generated a greater range of partnerships in our community that enhance the experiences of our students.”
