Pupils at Banff Primary School watched on in shock as Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance descended on their playground. The crew had been on its way back to base after a job in Orkney when it was diverted to the town following reports a man had fallen ill. The team was flying over the Moray Firth when the alarm was raised at about 11.45am. They were given permission to land in the school playground – with the janitor helping to guide them into landing as the children watched from inside.
