Waite Park and St. Joseph Bike Rentals Back Out Again for Summer
Waite Park and St. Joseph’s grant-funded Bike Share program that launched last August is back and ready for summer 2021.
The bike-share program originally started in 2019 as a pilot program that was funded by Stearns County Public Health from the Statewide Health Improvement Program. It then officially launched with the bikes being available to the public in August of 2020.

The bikes are located at both River’s Edge Park in Waite Park and at the Lake Wobegon trailhead in St. Joseph. There is an electronic locking system that you unlock by renting the bike through the Movatic mobile app. The bikes are really inexpensive to rent at just $1 per hour, and there is no time limit. All bikes also are adjustable and have a basket for storing personal items while you bike. What s great about the app system is that you can check to see if a bike is available before you head to the location to rent

Improving one’s health and well-being can be as easy as taking a deep breath.
Nanette A. Negri shared that and other ways to better oneself through mindfulness and meditation at Crow Wing Energized’s eighth annual Health and Wellness Summit.
“Well-being is a very broad kind of concept and can be a very elusive one for folks. But generally speaking, it means being comfortable, being healthy and being happy,” Negri said.

FAIRMONT– The Martin County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition is going to provide Youth Connections magazine free to all students and families in Martin County. The family-orientated magazine will provide local stories, as well as educational articles on parenting, prevention and more.
MCSAP’s project coordinator, Steph Johnson, said the coalition has been working on this for about four months. She explained why they wanted to partner with Youth Connections.
“With the pandemic, our coalition was looking for more ways to reach more students and people. When we heard about another coalition doing this, we looked into it and saw the success they were having with connecting to students and families. We decided it would be a good opportunity for us to meet people where they’re at, which is at home right now” said
