During their stormy marriage Marsden told his wife she had fat legs and asked her to wear skirts and take more pride in her appearance.
Wheelchair-bound Marsden, who suffers from osteoporosis and arthritis, faced up to five years jail if convicted but was found not guilty at Manchester Magistrates Court.

A man has appeared in court charged with causing the death of Clive Pinnock by careless driving.
Mr Pinnock, a well-known clubland figure nicknamed Mr Ibiza , was killed after a crash on Hyde Road in Gorton on April 8 last year.
Daniel Masiulis, 35, appeared at Manchester Magistrates Court today (April 5) charged with causing the death of Mr Pinnock by careless/inconsiderate driving.
Mr Masiulis, of Baguley Street, Droylsden, was granted bail and will next appear at Manchester Crown Court on June 2.

Driving licence MAGISTRATES have fined three men after each was caught driving without a licence or insurance. Bilal Safeer, aged 25, of Rishton Lane, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offences by driving a Vauxhall Corsa on Weston Street, Bolton, on December 21 last year. In addition to a £440 fine, he was ordered to pay £129 in costs. Mohammed Ibrahim, aged 31, of Hobart Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to having no licence when he drove a Chevrolet Matiz on December 17 last year on Brownlow Way, Bolton. He was fined £92 plus £119 costs. The case against Antonin Steinigl, aged 34, of Duncombe Road, Bolton, was proved at Manchester Magistrates’ Court after he drove a BMW on Rasbottom Street, Bolton, on December 23 last year without a licence or insurance. He was fined £660 and must also pay £151 in costs and charges.
