ALLENDALE A Royal Oak woman has been identified by Grand Valley State University officials as the student whose body was found Saturday on campus.
In an email to students Tuesday, GVSU President Philomena Mantella identified the student as Taylor DeRosa, a first-year student who had been living in on-campus housing during the fall semester. DeRosa was from Royal Oak, according to a public Facebook profile, and a GoFundMe page set up for her family says she was 18.
Police are investigating DeRosa’s death, calling it “suspicious,” after her body was found near the intramural athletic fields, south of West Campus Drive, by a runner Saturday morning.
