Grand Rapids Business Journal A nonprofit education organization hired a director of partnerships. Spring Lake-based Do More Good + Nonprofit Hub said Friday that it hired Delaney Mullennix for the role. “We are thrilled to have such a rising star in the nonprofit sector join our team and at such a critical juncture, given our recent merger with Nonprofit Hub,” said Katie Appold, executive director of the joint organization. “Delaney’s heart for cause work combined with her background working in and with the nonprofit sector make her an excellent fit for this leadership position.” Mullennix is the former outreach coordinator of BRAINS, a neuropsychological institute based in Grand Rapids Township. During her time with BRAINS, the company developed a network of over 1,000 referring sources, nearly doubled its value of services provided and was rated a top care provider by the Grand Rapids community for three consecutive years.

No local schools added to COVID-19 outbreak report this week For the first time in more than a month, no local schools were added to this week’s outbreak report from the state.  There were 34 schools added to the state’s School-Related Outbreak Report in an update Monday, May 24, but none from local districts. It’s the first time since April 20 that area schools were absent from the report, breaking a streak of four weeks with school outbreaks. Grand Haven High School was the only Ottawa County building added to the report Monday. No schools in Allegan County were added.

The short videos, which ask people about the struggles they have faced through the pandemic and what advice they might have for others, will eventually be made into a documentary film. Billy Gains started Battle of the Gains back in 2016 during his time at Grand Valley State University, where he initially set out to become an English teacher.
