The Grand Forks County Fairgrounds will be open for business this upcoming season. The County Commission agreed during a special meeting to end a closure order put into place last spring for most events without a pre-approved plan to deal with coronavirus.
The commission agreed to open things up and follow the risk levels set out by the local health dashboard. Right now the risk level for COVID-19 is in the
green or “low risk” category. County Emergency Manager Kari Goelz says there are still some guidelines to keep in mind. “The green level says large venues both indoors and outdoors can operate at 80% capacity with social distancing and mask wearing.” The move paves the way for a return to Friday night races…horse shows…Grand Forks County Fair…and 4-H exhibits.
