Apr 30, 2021 Blue Earth – Diana McTamaney, age 59, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at her home in Blue Earth. Diana was born March 16, 1962, to Mary and Gene Norwood in Farmington, New Mexico. After graduation from Grand Rapids High School she received a degree in photo finishing. Taking a job with Fuji she traveled the country installing photo finishing labs. Ready to settle down she returned to Grand Rapids and met Denny, home on leave from the Navy. Diana and Denny married Aug. 26, 1992. Diana worked as a mortgage underwriter but loved getting her hands in the dirt. She grew and showed African Violets winning many awards. She loved being outside in her flower gardens. In 2008 Diana and Denny bought Gartzke’s Greenhouse and Floral and moved to Blue Earth. Diana ran the flower shop and Denny the greenhouse. Diana loved being around flowers and tending to her succulents, to which she had hundreds.

2 Northland schools added to Minnesota COVID-19 outbreak list Memorial High School, in Ely, and Mesabi East Elementary School, in Aurora, both added March 25, were removed from the list Thursday. 4:10 pm, Apr. 29, 2021 × Two Northland schools were added to the Minnesota Department of Health s outbreak list Thursday. A school building is put on the list if it reports five or more confirmed cases of COVID-19 in students or staff who were in a building while infectious during a two-week reporting period. The building is removed after 28 days of no new positive tests. Nashwauk-Keewatin High School, in Nashwauk, and Laura MacArthur Elementary School, in Duluth, were added to the list Thursday. Both schools are offering in-person learning for all students.

GRHS theatre presents The Addams Family – Quarantined: A Dramatic Concert Version | News

Even the Addams family is being affected by quarantine. Beginning Thursday, the Grand Rapids High School theatre department will perform “The Addams Family – Quarantined: A Dramatic Concert Version” at the Wilcox Theater of the Myles Reif Performing Arts Center. Performances will run Thursday, April 29 through Saturday, May 1.  The original, “The Addams Family” musical is described as a “comical feast” and embraces the wackiness in all families. Daughter Wednesday Addams, known as the princess of darkness, falls in love with a respectable young man who has never met her parents. Wednesday confides in her father and asks him to not tell her mother, making Gomez Addams do something he has never done before, keep a secret from his wife Morticia. Everything changes when the Addams family hosts a dinner for Wednesday’s boyfriend and his parents.
