Body Found In Martinon Identified As Missing Woman

In a news release Wednesday, police said the body is that of a Grand Bay-Westfield woman missing since February. Andrea Limkilde was reported missing to Grand Bay-Westfield RCMP on Feb. 9. The 31-year-old was last seen crossing River Valley Drive four days earlier. Posted: Apr 21, 2021 2:52 PM AT | Last Updated: April 21 Andrea Limkilde, 31, was last seen in Grand Bay-Westfield on Feb. 5.(RCMP) The desperate search for a young Grand Bay-Westfield woman has come to a tragic end. A body discovered in Martinon over the weekend has been identified as a 31-year-old woman reported missing from the town in February, Saint John police announced in a news release Wednesday. The release does not name the woman, but Andrea Limkilde, 31, was last seen on Feb. 5 on River Valley Drive  less than a minute drive from the Martinon area. She was reported missing to the local RCMP on Feb. 9, prompting numerous searches, which involved the RCMP dog and air services, as well as ground search and rescue crews, and hundreds of community volunteers.

Public Health says a person in their 60s in the Saint John region (Zone one) has died from COVID-19. I am saddened to learn that another individual has lost their life as a result of COVID-19, said Health Minister Dorothy Shephard in Wednesday’s media release. On behalf of all New Brunswickers, I share my sincere condolences with the family and friends of this person. This brings the total number of COVID-19-related deaths in the province to 34.

Nancy Perry said her number one priority will be to listen to the people of the community. She said other priorities include building the local economy and increasing employment opportunities. Perry said her many years of experience working as a civil servant for the provincial and municipal government prepare her for this role. She will be campaigning through social media, volunteering in the community and working with the other candidates to find a way to meet and greet safely.
