Twitter has suspended Manikarnika actress Kangana Ranaut s account after her recent incendiary tweets on the alleged political violence in West Bengal after election results were announced. She had also criticised Twitter s regulations. She had blamed the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) for violence in the state and also urged the BJP to impose Presidential rule in West Bengal.
The actress had, responding to a tweet by journalist-politician Swapan Dasgupta on the violence in Bengal urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to tame Mamata Banerjee using his virat roop from early 2000s.
On Sunday, the TMC romped home in West Bengal, pocketing 213 of the 292 assembly seats that went to polls, while the BJP got 77 seats.
MUMBAI: The Shiv Sena on Tuesday claimed the BJP s arrogance was among the reasons for its defeat in the West Bengal assembly polls.
An editorial in the Sena mouthpiece Saamana also said the BJP s intolerance was responsible for it being out of power in Maharashtra.
The comments came days after Maharashtra BJP president Chandrakant Patil reportedly asked state NCP minister Chhagan Bhujbal to weigh his words while speaking about the saffron party.
Bhujbal had made certain remarks about the BJP in the context of the recent West Bengal polls, where the saffron party was defeated by the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC).

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday appealed for peace in the state after Opposition parties accused the Trinamool Congress of killing their supporters in post-poll violence,
The Telegraph reported. The ruling party also claimed its members were killed.
Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has expressed concern on the development, while the Union home ministry has sought a report.
“Elections are over now.Sometimes it becomes very heated,” Banerjee said. “There is also no denying that Bharatiya Janata Party and the central forces committed atrocities. I will request all to stay peaceful.”
