The HTK+ petrol-DCT and diesel-automatic have been axed. In place of that will be the HTX as the new entry-level automatic variant. This means you now have to shell out an additional Rs 50,000 to Rs 70,000 to get your hands on an entry-level Sonet automatic.
Prices for the 2021 Sonet have been increased by up to Rs 30,000. Only the base HTE 1.2-litre petrol has been spared from the hike.
Now that prices are sorted, let s delve more into what’s new for the 2021 Sonet:
Paddle Shifters for all automatic Sonet trims ( HTX 7DCT, GTX+ 7DCT, HTX AT, GTX+ AT)
Opening/closing of sunroof via voice commands ( HTX+, GTX+)

The two updated SUVs were initially expected to go on sale at Kiaâs âBig Eventâ on April 27
The two SUVs will get paddle shifters, with the Sonet also getting sun shades for rear occupants.
A few features from the top-spec variants will trickle down the lineup.
The Sonet HTX will be the new entry-level variant to get DCT and automatic gearbox options.
The Seltos’s 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine will get an optional 6-speed iMT.
Expect select variants to retail at a premium.
At its ‘Big Event’, Kia debuted the new logo in India, which was already introduced globally in January this year. We also expected the carmaker to launch the 2021 Sonet and Seltos. But, as it turns out, you will have to wait a little longer for that; the two SUVs will be going on sale in the first week of May.

The updates this time have been significant, so we reckon certain variants will sell at a premium
The 2021 Sonet will likely be introduced on April 27 at Kia’s ‘Big Event’. Vehicles sporting the revised logo have already started reaching dealerships. However, the latest pictures reveal that updates are not only limited to the new monogram; a few top-spec features have now made their way lower down the order.
HTX Variant To Come With Automatic Transmissions
The HTX will replace the Sonet s HTK+ as the base automatic variant. Earlier limited to the iMT (with turbo-petrol) and manual (with diesel) transmissions, the Sonet HTX will now come paired with a DCT and automatic as well. The former can be hand with the turbo-petrol motor, while the latter is mated to the diesel unit. Both the variants will also come with drive and traction modes, an electronic stability control-based feature that was earlier limited to the top-spec GTX+.
0 Comments What a year it has been for the utility vehicle (UV) segment – the shining star of the overall passenger vehicle market – in what was a pandemic-impacted FY2021. Utility vehicle was the sole sub-segment from the passenger vehicle (PV), commercial vehicle, three- and two-wheeler segments to be in positive territory last fiscal. Not only that, in FY2021 (only 11 months considering April 2020 was a zero-production-and-sales month), the UV segment accounted for 39.12 percent of total PV sales of 27,11,457 units. This betters its FY2020 performance when it accounted for 34.10 percent (9,45,959) of the total PV sales of 27,73,519 units. The consistent bestsellers were the new Hyundai Creta, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Seltos and the Maruti Ertiga. Not surprisingly, they constitute the top 5 bestselling UVs in India and accounted for 45.75 percent – or 4,85,386 units – of total UV sales of 10,60,750 units
