Sheriff: 1 dead in head-on crash in Franklin County, Indiana © WLKY wlwt A person has died in a head-on crash in Franklin County, Indiana, Wednesday. The crash happened on U.S. 52, east of Yellow Bank Road, at around 1:28 p.m.Sign up for our Newsletters According to the Franklin County Sheriff s Department, when deputies arrived at the scene, they found a red 2001 Chevrolet Silverado laying in the eastbound lane of U.S. 52 on its side. Deputies also found a 2014 Kia Soul on the road completely engulfed in flames. Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames on the Kia and find the driver s body. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff s office. Their name is not being released at this time.
