MARQUETTE Traffic was reduced to one lane following a logging truck accident that took place at about 11:30 a.m. Monday on U.S. 41 West, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office was dispatched to the Brickyard Road Roundabout on U.S. 41 West at Brickyard Road in Marquette Township for the accident. Deputies arrived at the scene and found a 2008 Kenworth logging truck hauling a pup trailer, owned by Jake’s Excavating & Landscaping, LLC, located in Ironwood, and driven by a 31-year-old Wisconsin male.
An investigation showed the truck was traveling eastbound through the roundabout when a mechanical problem caused the axle on the pup trailer to break. As a result, a small number of logs were spilled from the trailer to the shoulder.
