The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences doesn t even begin its Oscar nomination voting period until March 5 (the Oscar nominees will be announced on March 15), and a lot can still happen between now and then. Additionally, there are major differences in terms of composition and inclination between the groups that determine the noms for the Golden Globes, SAG Awards and Oscars.
Golden Globe nominations are decided by roughly 90 Los Angeles-based journalists for foreign media outlets; SAG noms are determined by approximately 2,500 randomly selected U.S.-based members of SAG-AFTRA, the world s largest union of actors; and acting Oscar noms reflect the tastes of 1,363 (by last count) of members of the actors branch of the Academy, an organization comprised of people based all around the world.

Netflix has released the first trailer for Moxie, a new comedy directed by and starring Amy Poehler.
We have a new trailer for
Moxie. This is one of Netflix s many, many original movies coming down the pipeline in 2021. In this case, they have reunited with Amy Poehler (
Saturday Night Live,
Parks and Recreation) for a new comedy. Poehler not only stars in the comedy but is also behind the camera as the director as well. As we can see from the trailer, Poehler will be shining a light on a group of young women on a journey of empowerment.

Moxie, playing a suburban mom whose rebellious past inspires her daughter to subvert the bro-forward culture at her high school. Today, the streamer shared the rowdy first trailer for the feminist teen comedy.

Hadley Robinson, Alycia Pascual-Peña, and Josie Totah lead a fresh-faced cast of nascent rabble-rousers who start a zine to “expose bias and wrongdoing” in a school where the administration has shown little interest in curbing the culture of harassment. Yep, the “cancel culture” crowd is gonna hate this one.
