ST. MARTINVILLE, La - Reports of unauthorized credit card charges led the St. Martin Parish Sheriff s Office to identify a suspect.
St. Martin Sheriff Becket Breaux announces that on June 20, 2021, deputies received a report from a resident regarding several unauthorized credit card charges.
At the culmination of the investigation, deputies were able to identify the suspect and obtain a warrant for an arrest.
On Monday, July 5, 2021, Madelyn Paige Matt, 33, of Lafayette was arrested and charged with LA. R.S. 14:67-Theft-(Felony).
Following her arrest, Matt was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above charge and her bond was set at $7,500.00.
What Alleged Crime Did Madelyn Paige Matt Commit?
On June 20, a resident in St. Martin Parish reported several unauthorized credit card charges to the Sheriff s Office. As investigators looked into the allegations, deputies say they found multiple unauthorized transactions had been made over the span of several days.
According to a press release from Sheriff Becket Breaux s Office, the investigation led to Matt, who was arrested on Tuesday, July 5 and has been charged with Felony Theft. Matt now sits in the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center with a bond set at $7,500.00.

ST. MARTINVILLE, La- Reports of suspected illegal drug activity at a residence in St. Martinville leads to the arrest of a St. Martinville family.
An investigation was initiated by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff s Office in concern of a residence in the 1500 block of Hebert Lane Hwy.
At the culmination of the investigation, deputies obtained a Narcotics Search Warrant for the residence, and on the morning of June 29, 2021, following the execution of the warrant; the following three individuals were arrested and charged as follows:
