More than 300 items have been recovered and a suspect under arrested in connection with thefts from a local storage facility.
Carencro Police say that in January of 2021, officers began investigating multiple burglaries that occurred at the Red Dot Storage on Smalley Road in Carencro.
During the investigation, they were able to obtain the identity of the suspect, 44-year-old David Corey Bell.
As the investigation progressed, Carencro Police say they worked with several agencies, obtained search warrants throughout several parishes, and recovered more than 300 items believed to be stolen and valued at nearly $100,000.

The St. Martin Parish Sheriff s Office is investigating a shooting that took place Saturday night.
The shooting happened near Poche Bridge and details of the shooting are not being released at this time.
A spokesperson with the Sheriff s office did confirm that a shooting took place near Poche Bridge and no other information was being released at this time.

As of 9 a.m. Monday, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff s Office is reporting the following road closures:
I-10 Eastbound and Westbound from mile marker 118 to 135 (Atchafalaya Basin Bridge), Including Iberville Parish is closed to vehicular travel along with Sawmill at the bridge overpass, 1200 block of Sawmill (small bridge), Bordelon Road Overpass, and the Pontoon Bridge.
Please do not attempt to bypass barricades that are put in place, they are there to keep you safe.
Please DO NOT travel on the roadways. Please do not attempt to sightsee. Conditions are extremely dangerous, especially on elevated roadways. Your safety is of utmost importance.
Four sex offenders arrested, one sought in St. Martin Parish

St. Martin Parish deputies say they have arrested four non-compliant sex offenders throughout the parish this week.
At the conclusion of the investigation and operation, the following individuals were arrested:
Hunter Miller, 21, St. Martinville, LA.
LA. R.S. 15:542.1.4-Failure to Register as a Sex Offender
Bond-$2,000.00
2-Warrants-Failure to Appear
Bond-$11,500.00

They have been booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. At the time of this release, no bond has been set.
A fourth individual, Milera Williams, was apprehended in Lafayette with the assistance of LPSO, deputies say. He was booked and released to St. Martin Parish deputies and transported to the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.

NEW IBERIA, La. Many in Louisiana woke up around 1:30 Monday morning to an Amber Alert on their phone for a missing 10-year-old girl from New Iberia who was believed to be abducted.
A few sanitation workers heard it too and thankfully remained alert during their morning shift. A few hours later while on their trash route, the men saw the vehicle in question.
