Cheyenne Closures For Martin Luther King Jr. Day Monday
All federal, state, Laramie County, and City of Cheyenne Offices are closed today for the Martin Luther King holiday.
Laramie County School District#1, St. Mary s Catholic School, and Laramie County Community College are also closed, but Laramie County School District#2 is operating on the normal schedule.
The Cheyenne Housing Authority and Cheyenne Transit Authority are closed, and no city buses will run today. Healthcare-related closures include the Cheyenne VA Medical Center, Cheyenne Laramie-County Health Department, and Crossroads Clinic. City of Cheyenne trash pickup that normally would happen on Monday was done on Saturday, and the Solid Waste Transfer Station and the landfill are both closed today.

TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WTOC) - People across the country will pause to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his life and legacy on Monday. Though celebrations will look a lot different this year because of COVID-19, many organizations say they still had to find a way to celebrate.
There are several events you can take part in virtually. The Tybee MLK Human Rights Organization says they may not be able to host a parade, but they will host a virtual presentation. She says the video will include Chatham County students who wrote essays, a speech from Savannah’s NAACP president, as well as a singing performance.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â Bishop David J. Walkowiak of the Grand Rapids Diocese issued a statement Monday about Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
He emphasized the importance of standing up to and speaking out against injustice, hatred and violence directed at anyone.
âActs and attitudes of racism are sinful,â Walkowiak said. âThey reveal a failure, a failure to acknowledge the value and dignity of the persons who are subjected to this evil; failure to see in each one of them the brother or sister that Christ calls us to love.â
