The Martinsville-Henry County SPCA is teaming up with North Shore Animal League for a national pet adoption event. Today through Sunday, adoption feed for adult dogs are $50 with cats and kittens at $5. Adoption hours are noon to 6 p.m. daily.
The Pulaski County School Board will meet today. It will discuss the calendar for the next school year, and get an update on the Virtual Academy for the 2021-2022 school year.

Terry Gene Largen was last seen on Monday at his home at Northview Garden Apartments.
Authorities said his disappearance is more concerning since he has medical issues.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Largen is known to walk along Stultz Road.

Yesterday at approximately 1:47 p.m., the Martinsville-Henry County 911 Center received a call that an individual had been shot at 200 Lakewood Park Drive in Martinsville.
When deputies arrived on scene at approximately 1:52 p.m., they found Jeremiah Jerron Turner, 20, of 200 Lakewood Park Drive, Martinsville, deceased inside the residence.
It appeared Turner suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the Western District of Virginia, where an autopsy will be performed.Â
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Taylor Paige Thomas, 23, of Axton, came to the home and knocked on the door, the resident allowed Thomas to enter the home.

» Pop-up holiday concerts by the Bassett High School band will be from noon to 2 p.m. Band members are scheduled to appear at Chick-fil-a at 12:30 p.m.; at Stanleytown Health/Rehab at 2 p.m. and at Belks at 3 p.m. The concerts will be in small groups who are distanced and wearing masks. Each will last for about 30 minutes.
