The Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter flew to Tasman’s Upper Graham Valley at 10.20am on Sunday to rescue a family of trampers. Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter pilot Brendan Hiatt said the crew picked up a mother and two young boys from a ridge line after being unable to make it to a hut before dark in bad weather on Saturday. The family set up camp on the ridge for the night, he said.

A man suffered injuries to his forearm after an incident with a wood router on a building site. St John communications advisor Gerard Campbell​ said the patient was flown to Nelson Hospital with moderate injuries.

Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter pilot Barry McAuliffe​ said the helicopter was returning to Nelson from a medical transfer to Christchurch Hospital when it was called to a job in Takaka around 4pm on Wednesday. A man in his 20s had an accident that resulted in burns to his legs, arms and face area. He was picked up from the Golden Bay Community Health Centre. St John communications advisor Gerard Campbell​ said the man was taken to Hutt Hospital with serious injuries.
