Wausau man accused of killing baby pleads not guilty to homicide

The woman said she heard a strange sound coming from the baby and went to check on him. The baby had one eye open and one closed. The woman said the open eye looked strange, and she told Lofton she thought something was wrong, according to the complaint.  The mother put the baby in a snowsuit and she and Lofton took him to an emergency room. He was later taken to Marshfield Medical Center. Doctors contacted police, saying the baby suffered what they believed to be intentional injuries, according to the complaint. The baby s brain was deprived of oxygen, and he suffered an injury to the left side of his head. 

Spencer man accused of killing Stratford brothers pleads guilty

Brandon D. Noll is accused of killing Michael L. Stone and William R. Stone, both of Stratford. Noll pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree intentional homicide. Marathon County Circuit Court Judge Michael Moran dismissed and read in two counts of driving or operating a vehicle without consent and one count of fleeing or eluding an officer. Moran ordered that a pre-sentence investigation be completed within 90 days. The date of Noll s sentencing has not yet been set. Marathon County sheriff s deputies, Wisconsin State Patrol and Stratford police responded April 7, 2020, to a report of a stabbing near County P in the town of Cleveland, according to the sheriff s office. They arrested Noll after they say he led them on a high-speed chase that ended in Marshfield.

Martinson Site staff MADISON – David James “Dave” Martinson, age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at the Marshfield Medical Center in northern Wisconsin, with his loving family at his side. David exited this world following a memorable weekend at his favorite place, the family cottage in Minocqua, Wis., which is exactly what he would have wanted. David was born on Dec. 12, 1935, in Madison, Wis., to Bertha and Amos Martinson. A lifelong resident of Madison, David attended Madison East High School, where he met his future wife, Sally Ann (Schluter). After graduating in 1953, David worked at Gardner Bakery to support his growing family. He and Sally welcomed Pam (Parker) into the world in 1956 and Lisa (Seversin) in 1959. David later went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1962.
