The NSW Teachers Federation remains concerned about inadequate buildings and infrastructure at Northbourne Public School and Marsden Park Public School in Sydney’s north-west.
NSW Teachers Federation Deputy President Henry Rajendra said staff at both schools had worked to avert the logistical nightmare of bussing large numbers of children between the two school sites each day.
“This is a positive outcome for Northbourne Public School students and their families which was achieved through strong community resolve and because teachers were prepared to engage in industrial action,” Mr Rajendra said.
“Teaching and learning conditions at both schools require urgent improvement. The building program at Northbourne Public School must be accelerated to meet the demands of growing enrolments.”
