Valenzuela City’s 8th City Council approved Ordinance No. 901, Series of 2021, or the “NCAP Relief Ordinance” granting incentives and relief on all traffic violations incurred by Valenzuela City residents under its “No Contact Apprehension” Program from March 17, 2020 until May 14, 2021 or at the end of the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ). NCAP in Valenzuela is in effect in the City for almost two (2) years now, however, in the recent record from the private partner of the City Government of Valenzuela in the operation of NCAP, there have been numerous traffic violators residing in Valenzuela City who have yet to settle their NCAP traffic obligations.

Entire Davao Region placed under MECQ due to COVID surge

Published June 30, 2021, 11:28 AM DAVAO CITY – The entire Davao Region has been placed under a Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) from July 1 to 15 amid an alarming surge of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases. President Rodrigo R. Duterte included provinces of Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, Davao de Oro, Davao del Sur, and Davao del Norte in the MECQ areas. The City of Davao has been under MECQ since June 5. As of June 28, the Department of Health (DOH)-Davao reported 670 new cases in the region, bringing the total cases to 41,627, with 10,250 active, 29,985 recoveries, and 1,392 deaths. Davao City, the epicenter of COVID-19 pandemic in Mindanao, reported 24,062 cases, comprising 57.8-percent of the total cases reported in the entire region. Of these cases, the city has 5,255 active cases, 17,670 recoveries, and 867 deaths.
