The City is also requesting those affected in the MECQ zero operational capacity under DTI Memorandum Circular 21-19 to coordinate with the Trabaho Dabawenyo employment assistance at the City Mayor’s Office Special Project Office located inside Magsaysay Park.
Under the MECQ all public transportation vehicles are allowed to travel.
The City Government has again reiterated to residents on the need to stay home unless it is for work or business.
The local government has attempted to stem the tide of surging COVID-19 cases, one of the recent executive orders to address the surge is Executive Order 31 which prohibits non-essential government face-to-face government activities these include inaugurations, ribbon cuttings, team building among many other non-essential government events.

PBA teams will still have to continue with their full practices and scrimmages outside of Metro Manila and provinces under the so-called “NCR Plus” after the stricter General Community Quarantine guidelines were extended until June 15.
Use of “indoor sports courts and venues” are still prohibited in areas under the “GCQ with restrictions” which prevents all 12 ballclubs from holding training sessions in their own facilities, at least for the next two weeks.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, June 1 (PIA) - Cagayan de Oro City is now placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) from June 1-15, 2021, following a televised National Inter-Agency Task Force s (NIATF) Talk to the People by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
With the surge of of COVID-19 cases here and the resolution of the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF) for the review of the quarantine classification of the entire region, the NIATF elevated the quarantine classification of Cagayan de Oro City from Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) to MECQ.
During the same telecast, President Duterte also reminded all the barangay chairpersons in the country of their responsibilities to implement the minimum public health standards in their respective areas of jurisdictions and be held liable for any lapses in the implementation.
