Apayao & Benguet placed under MECQ until May 23, 2021 Philippine Information Agency 11 May 2021, 18:38 GMT+10 BAGUIO CITY, May 11 (PIA) The National Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) has placed Apayao and Benguet under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) from May 10 to 23, 2021. The National IATF-EID issued Resolution No. 114-C series of 2021 signed on Sunday(May 9) placing the provinces of Apayao and Benguet in the Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan in Region 2 under a more stringent MECQ status in the next 14 days. Upon the recommendation of the Screening and Validation Committee, Cagayan, Apayao, and Benguet shall be placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine from May 10, 2021, to May 23, 2021, the IATF resolution read.

DILG: Local execs to face raps over failure to enforce mass gathering prohibition, limitations

QUEZON CITY, May 9 Following President Rodrigo Duterte’s directive, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) directed all local chief executives (LCEs) to strictly impose the prohibition or limitation of mass gatherings under the different community quarantine classifications to protect public health and safety or face sanctions for dereliction of duty. “Local government units (LGUs) have a critical role in enforcing mass gathering regulations as they are nearer to their constituencies compared to the national government. What LCEs can do is to adopt and implement guidelines and policies of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) as well as enact necessary local policies to support these regulations,” said DILG Secretary Eduardo Año.
