Makati City suspends number coding scheme

(Makati City LGU / MANILA BULLETIN) This was announced by Makati City spokesman lawyer Michael “Don” Camiña on Monday (May 3) . He said the local government of Makati decided to temporarily halt the implementation of the number coding scheme because vehicles are fewer than usual in the city. “Nakita po natin na kapag MECQ, konti lang po ang mga kotse sa Makati kaya we lift[ed] coding implementation (We noticed that while under MECQ, there are only a few cars in Makati so we lifted the number coding scheme),” Camiña said. “Kahit during quarantine implementation, importante pa rin sa City na masiguradong maayos ang traffic [ng mga sasakyan] that’s why we adjust accordingly (Even during the quarantine implementation, it is still important for the city government to ensure that the traffic of vehicles is orderly that’s why we adjust accordingly),” he added.

Batangas City opens door to team practices, PBA to iron out protocols

Published May 2, 2021, 2:44 PM Batangas City will allow PBA teams the option to hold regular practices inside the city once protocols and necessary requirements are finalized. PBA commissioner Willie Marcial and San Miguel Corporation sports director Alfrancis Chua received a nod of approval from Mayor Beverly Dimacuha and Batangas fifth district representative Marvey Marino during talks held Saturday. Marcial also said that Games and Amusements Board chairman Baham Mitra, whose agency is part of the Joint Administrative Order, is also backing the proposal aimed to help teams resume practice despite the current COVID-19 situation. Other details will be ironed out before the venues, including the Batangas City Sports Center, can welcome the teams.

OMB headquarters in Quezon City still physically closed until May 14 – Manila Bulletin

The Office of the Ombudsman (OMB) in Quezon City will still be physically closed until May 14. Ombudsman Samuel R. Matires on Sunday, May 2, said the closure is “in view of the extended Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) status of the National Capital Region until 14 May 2021.” “However, the Office shall continue to adopt the alternative work-from-home arrangement permissible under civil service rules and the attendance of Ombudsman Prosecutors in virtual court hearings,” Martires said. While the offices are physically closed, the OMB advised the public that “the reglementary period for the filing of pleadings, motions, affidavits and other relevant documents before the Office of the Ombudsman, Quezon City shall be DEEMED INTERRUPTED, and the period of the filing of such shall begin to run again when the Office is physically opened.”

Manila Shopper: New Community Quarantine Classification for May 2021: Extended MECQ for NCR+ & What have changed

  Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) classification has been extended for NCR!+: National Capital Region (NCR), Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna and Cavite starting May 1 until May 14, 2021.Santiago City in Quirino province and Abra province will also be under MECQ.  Apayao, Baguio City, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Batangas, Quezon, Tacloban, Iligan City, Davao City, and Lanao del Sur will be under general community quarantine (GCQ) while the rest of the Philippines will be under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) from May 1-31, 2021. What have changed, especially for NCR+ which is still under MECQ?  New curfew hours are now from 10pm to 4am. Malls will be allowed to operate up to 50% capacity for essential establishments.  Barbershops, beauty salons, nail spas and other personal care establishments will be allowed to operate up to 30 % capacity. Dine-in services on restaurants will also be allowed with up to 10 % cap
