The event to launch the logo was held virtually due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, where the Chairman of Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI), Mohamed Umar Manik unveiled the logo on Wednesday. Manik played a pivotal role in introducing tourism in the nation. Speaking during the virtual event, Manik revealed that it has been 50 years since zealous travelers have been visiting the Maldives which has been drawing in visitors with its picturesque beauty. He noted that the country’s beauty still remains the same as ever before.

Adventurous travellers looking to tick something off the bucket list later this year should plan a trip to Kandima Maldives, which has launched a new skydiving programme providing visitors with a panoramic 360-degree view of the destination. The new Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, which is scheduled to open on 1st June 2021, will provide guests with an immersive cultural experience from evening Bodu Beru performances to traditional food served in resort restaurants.

/ Posted on 17 February, 2021 13:32 The Maldives, unfazed by the Covid-19 pandemic that has wreaked havoc on the travel industry, is planning to promote the destination aggressively at overseas trade exhibitions and roadshows through the year. Initially, the NTO is preparing to participate at trade events and roadshows in Russia and India next month, said Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) managing director Thoyyib Mohamed. The Maldives drives up promotions with planned participations in more than 40 events this year The MITT trade show in Moscow, a B2B and B2C event, will take place from March 16-18; coinciding with roadshows in Moscow, Kazakhstan, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg. Meanwhile, India’s South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange will be held on March 22 along with a roadshow.
