Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), on Thursday, announced that Visit Maldives has commenced a major marketing effort with Expedia Group to promote Maldives as “one of the most secluded and serene destinations in the world for tourists.”
Thee four-month campaign, which targets Russia, Middle East, China and India as key source markets, will be aimed at assuring travel enthusiasts that Maldives remains one of the most accessible destinations, even amid the ongoing pandemic.
Visit Maldives plans to emphasise experiences unique to the destination and shall work towards portraying them in different and even more enticing manners.
ICGE : Minister emphasises need to promote social entrepreneurship in a big way
Kozhikode, Feb 11 (UNI) Kerala Health and Social Justice Minister K K Shailaja emphasised the need to promote social entrepreneurship in a big way for the uplift of the marginalised sections and ensuring gender equality by empowering and mainstreaming women and transgender persons.
Speaking after inaugurating the three-day second edition of International Conference on Gender Equality (ICGE) which began at the Gender Park Campus here on Thursday, the Minister said the South Asia’s first Gender Park set up in the state will extend total support to enterprises of women and transgender persons, which is a major component of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations.

With globe-trotting banned in the pandemic, increasing numbers of people are turning to virtual reality to relieve pent-up demand for travel.
Escapism from the sofa through a growing range of VR travel experiences is whetting appetites for post-pandemic holidays and could be a watershed moment for the technology in tourism, say analysts.
“As long as the pandemic increases and we are spending more time indoors, we should see adoption keep on growing,” said Ralph Hollister, a tourism analyst at Global Data and the author of a recent report on VR in tourism.
